Summary
It's one of three big festivals taking place this weekend, along with some interesting smaller ones such as the Alabama Gourd Festival, where every craft is made of some type of gourd, and the Vietnam Vets' festival in Soddy-Daisy, where there's a $5,000 prize for hitting a hole-in-one. (The catch is that the hole is floating on a green in the middle of Soddy Lake.)
A visit to [Ketner]'s is like stepping back in time, beginning with the mule-powered sugar-cane press you'll pass as you enter the fairgrounds. Farm animals graze in nearby pastures, craftsmen give demonstrations on pioneer skills, and then there's the 100-year-old mill itself. Visitors can tour the mill and take home a bag of meal as a souvenir. Kids are always lined along the creek bank skipping rocks across the millstream.See the full content of this document
