Preliminary AYP reports for 2009 show four of 16 Catoosa County schools failed to meet AYP standards and one of four Dade County schools missed the benchmarks. Two of Walker County's 14 schools and one of the 20 schools in Whitfield County also failed to hit AYP marks, records show.
Most AYP problems in North Georgia school systems arose among the "economically disadvantaged" and "children with disabilities" testing subgroups, records show.
